Some announcements for 2012!

A couple of important announcements!

2012 SESSIONS

YES, I will definitely doing sessions this year, albeit on a limited basis for a couple of reasons. First, my family needs me and I need them. There are times when I don't even take pictures of my own kids, or that I miss out on some important time with my family, which is just wrong! I just need to scale my other commitments back for awhile so I can focus on the important things. I know you understand what that means to me. Second, I need to refill my creative well, which as an artist, is crucial, not only to me, but to the quality of the work I do for you! I need to stretch myself and I'm working on some personal creative projects to feed my soul and will allow me to do an even better job for you. 

So the bottom line is that if you are thinking you would like a session in 2012, make sure you let me know as soon as possible so I can be sure to reserve a spot for you! We will also be doing a couple of mini session events. 

BLOG/WEBSITE

I have severely neglected my blog over the last year and a half or so. Not that I ever was a prolific blogger, but this is a bit ridiculous, no? With my Grandmother's passing last year, and then trying to catch up and get through the busy season last fall, and this spring, there just wasn't any time, hence the decision I made above to officially shift my priorities back to where they need to be for right now. 

I've also been working on revamping the look of Villa Montarti which includes updating the website, a fresh new logo and a new blogsite which will make it easier to blog and connect on social media. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it's turning out! But, it's taken time. It will be ready soooooon!

Website issues :( and other news :)

UPDATE: WEBSITE IS FIXED (BUT STILL EDITING)

Oy! I just found out that my website isn't up right now (thanks for the heads up Rachel!)

After some momentary freaking, I figured out that the domain registration lapsed because we had some fraud last year on our card and must not have updated the payment info. I thought I had updated all of the automatic payments but apparently forgot this one :( 

Anyway, it will be back up shortly just as soon as possible. I should be able to get it all fixed tomorrow. I'm also going to be updating the images and info on the site as well.

Whew!

In other news, I've been taking some time off for the holidays and even all of January. We had a stressful lead up to Christmas with some pretty significant (i.e. disruptive) home remodeling, plus sessions, visitors, birthdays, and all of the normal stuff. I am finally just starting to get back to business here. I haven't been checking email very often, so if you need to reach me quickly or aren't sure if I got your email, call me instead for right now. 

I'm hoping we'll still be doing daffodil sessions this year... with this weird warm weather I've seen some sprouts coming up elsewhere and it's way too early yet. We'll be keeping an eye on them and let you know. Regardless, there will be some very sweet spring mini sessions coming up, so if you're not on the email list (see the sign up box on the right) then make sure you sign up.

 Happy Mother's Day!

So often we moms forget to include ourselves in the pictures with our children, either because we're the ones taking the pictures, or because we think it's only the kids we're trying to capture. But when your children are older, they'll want to see mom in there too, and not just mom, but them WITH their mom. Those will be the images that mean the most to them.

Pittsburgh Child Photographer - Daffodil Days Mini Sessions are here!

SPRING is in the air! Do you feel it? 

So, you all know that I had been searching high and low for a couple of years for a big daffodil field to do spring sessions in.... last year I was driving by Gilfillan Farm and out of the corner of my eye - BOOM - there it was! I went to talk with the nice owners and not only do I get to shoot there year round but we've set up a mini session event as a fundraiser for the farm and the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair (which owns and maintains the farm). 

I added a couple of images at the beginning of my website from a session there last year. 

So here's the info:

Date: Saturday, April 17th (rain date April 24th)

Sessions are $350 and include:

~ 15-20 minute session with me

~ 5+ fully edited digital files plus a professional 5x7 print of each

Half of the proceeds will benefit the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair and the Gilfillan Farm.

You know what they say about good intentions... yadda yadda. I'm sorry to have neglected you for so long! 

I do have some fun news and some great ideas I want to incorporate to this blog. 

I'll be posting a slideshow of my fave images from 2009 and I have THREE upcoming mini session events!

One is for spring (hint: Daffodils), and the other two have to do with Mother's Day and Father's Day. I'll post more info momentarily.

cha-cha-cha-changes...

I am so excited about 2009! We have new products and some new session options (which I'll show you shortly) AND I have brought in the calvary to help me keep everything running smoothly (those of you that know me know how much of a help this will be). 

So may I introduce my new Assistant Extraordinaire (yes that is her official title), Michele Wilson! I have known Michele for several years now and am always in awe of her ability to keep everything in her life humming along. 

Let's see... some info about Michele... it's ONE 'L', not 2... she's married with 5 girls and makes me laugh just about every day. She's incredible with kids and has a background in preschool/elementary education.

Happy Holidays!

After the flurry of fall sessions, I am taking a much needed hiatus enjoying time with family. This is a very special Christmas because we went home to visit my family.... and they didn't know we were coming! It was so fun seeing their faces as we walked in. This was their first Christmas with the kids, so it was really something special.

I have some announcements for 2009 (all good) so stay tuned :)
